Like A face Pinart Collection
Alphonse Pinart Came to the Aleutians in 1872 to collect information on the language and culture of the native people of the Aleutians and Kodiak Island. Along the way he collected Traditional Masks. These masks are on display - on temporary loan from France - at the Anchorage Museum. I had a chance to view these masks and they are very interesting and much larger then i imagined. Here is a link that has some info on the exhibit. - http://alutiiqmuseum.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=93&Itemid=127 -
